Celeste served as the Sr. Manager of Experiences, Content, & Curriculum for Meridian Treehouse.

Meridian Treehouse is an award winning nonfiction storytelling agency that specializes in immersive education. Her work blends together her inquiry-based learning specialty with her stagecraft training and museum education experience.

The Meridian Treehouse team is constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in immersive education. They are most known for their large-scale synchronized VR theaters, though their body of work spans a wide variety of novel technologies and traditional instructional methods—whatever best serves the story, engages the audience, and sparks curiosity!

Celeste previously served as an Education Content Manager at National Geographic, overseeing a variety of programs designed to connect National Geographic Explorers to students, teachers, and families around the world.

Volunteering

Celeste has been volunteering with the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership foundation (HOBY) since 2010. She designs curriculum, service learning experiences, and leadership development activities for the HOBY World Leadership Congress as well as the HOBY chapter in her home state of Illinois.

HOBY has seminars across North America and is always looking for sponsors and volunteers. If you’d like to get involved, or want to register an outstanding high school student for one of HOBY’s transformational youth leadership seminars, please get in touch to learn more!

In her free time Celeste is as an avid reader and roller coaster enthusiast.

She also loves ttrpgs. Her first persistent campaign started in 2020 and still meets each Friday for new adventures—in it she plays an eladrin paladin named Masha (this first D&D character was named in reference to her first scene study character from theater school) Celeste also GMs a monthly home game.

  • VR in the Field

    Recently the Meridian Treehouse team headed to Nairobi, Kenya. While there, they presented immersive learning workshops for the 100 Year Starship Symposium and ran VR events for Wildlife Direct and local students. Kids headed out on guided nature walks around Nairobi National Park, then got face-to-face with lions and other iconic local species in VR!
